Physician-Led, Board-Certified Integrative Medicine

Root-cause care, Lifestyle, and Longevity Medicine on the Connecticut shoreline.

If you've spent years being told your labs look fine while you still feel exhausted, foggy, inflamed, or unwell — you're exactly who this practice was built for.

Tantien Integrative Medicine is a small, physician-led practice in Branford, Connecticut. Dr. Laura Tavernier, MD brings 34 years of clinical experience, board certification in integrative medicine (ABOIM), and fellowship training from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona — the most rigorous integrative medicine training pathway in the country. She limits the practice to 100 patients so every visit gets the time complex illness actually requires.

Instead of ten-minute appointments and symptom-by-symptom prescriptions, care here starts with a 90-minute consultation and a clinical genetic test that shows how your body handles inflammation, nutrients, hormones, and stress.

Then we build a plan around your biology — not a template.

Advanced Genomics & Nutrigenomics

A simple at-home cheek swab reveals how your genes affect inflammation, energy, hormones, and how you handle stress — so your treatment plan is built for your body, not the average body.

Two Kinds of People Find Us

You’re Trying to Get Your Health Back

You’ve been passed between specialists, handed prescriptions that quiet one symptom while three others get louder, and told your labs look fine. We start over — with time, root-cause thinking, and real data about your specific biology. We commonly work with adults dealing with:

You’re Trying to Protect Your Health

You feel well, and you plan to stay that way — sharp, strong, and energized for decades, without chasing whatever supplement is trending this week. We use your genetics to protect what actually matters as you age:

•    Cellular energy: How efficiently your cells make and defend the energy your brain and muscles run on.

•    Brain health: Supporting cognitive vitality with specificity, based on your predispositions — not vague promises.

•    Performance, fitness, and recovery: How your body responds to training, where injury risk sits, and what recovery asks of you.

•    Metabolic and hormonal health: Catching the tendencies that drive decline early, while they’re still easy to shift.

Grounded in real longevity medicine — not social-media noise.

Personalized Care, Guided Through Two-Eyed Seeing

Two eyed seeing is the ability to see through one eye the strengths of Indigenous ways of knowing, and through the other eye, the strengths of Western ways of knowing.

    90-minute first visits

Long enough to hear the whole history instead of a symptom list.

    •    Cash-pay, by design. No insurance company dictating ten-minute medicine.

  • Logo of 3X4 Genetics on Tantien Integrative Medicine's website at www.tantienim.com. Dr. Tavernier is a certified 3x4 practitioner.

    Genomics-informed

A 3x4 Genetics test shows how your body handles inflammation, nutrients, hormones, and stress. A clinical genetic test, read by your physician, not a printout you’re left to decode alone.
